This next news announcement I'm sure none of you will enjoy hearing
too much. Lately I've heard rumours that Game Show Network was deciding
to get rid of "Sunday Nights in Black & White"...
Well, it seems the rumours have been confirmed... By taking a look
at the Game Show Network official program guide, I see that The
Black & White shows are now limited to 1 hour on Sunday Night,
from 9:00pm until 10:00pm. It is said that the Black & White
shows that we're all watching will appear in a rotation, such as
Beat the Clock will be one week, but we might not see it again for
another month, and the same with Two For the Money, Tattle Tales,
What's My Line, To Tell The Truth, however, the worst is still yet
to come. My website has a main theme to it, Classic Game Shows,
and the way Game Show Network is changing to New and Original shows,
it really puts this site out of business. To top that off, the main
topic usually on this site is the "Game of the Week" which
will no longer be seen on Game Show Network. This makes me mad.
A quote from GSN states that "We need to improve the ratings".
Well, wait until you hear what shows are replacing "Sunday
Nights in Black & White". "All New 3's a Crowd",
and two episodes of "The Newlywed Game". To think it wasn't
bad enough having our favourite night of the week taken off the
air, they had to replace it with shows that we can watch 7 times
a day, every other day!!! I wish there was something more that we
could do, but alas, it seems the decision has been made, and GSN
feels that we the viewers are not seeing enough Newlywed Game and
3's a Crowd, so they thought they'd be kind enough to make us watch
more... So this is one of those times I recommend you all set your
VCRs for this last and final moment of Game Show Network's finest
4 hours. Perhaps some day Game Show Network will see that they've
made a grave mistake, but perhaps they won't... They seem so afraid
of losing ratings, yet they continue to put on shows that we either
don't need, or shows that we're sick of watching. Another example
is Hollywood Squares, it's on 4 times daily, but it's the same episode,
that means that they have 3 empty slots for daily Game Shows, why
should it have to be that shows that come on only once a week or
those that are first to go. Maybe they know what they're doing,
because I sure don't! (Who's the programming coordinator, those
Vault Guys or what?)
